07 November VOTE!!!No matter what your beliefs are, no matter what your affiliation is, no matter what you have going on today, please make your voice heard. No excuses! Get out and vote! 25 September The Verdict's InI've actually managed to squeeze some primetime viewing in between gluttonous football watching and although I reserve judgement for when I've seen all the new shows I have to say I think Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is the winner so far. I never got into the West Wing very much but The American President is one of my favorite movies and this show is pure Aaron Sorkin. The dialogue is fresh, the characters have great potential and I'm always a big fan of anything that gives a meta view of Hollywood, L.A. etc. Oh, and I want Amanda Peet's wardrobe. 18 September Pay UpFor my dad's birthday in June I bought him tickets to the David Grey concert. First the concert was canceled and then I had to travel to San Jose for work the date it was rescheduled. A concert this summer never worked out because of all the wedding shenanigans I was involved in so now long story short he wants to go to a Seahawks game. Gulp. I can't believe how expensive tickets are when just a short time ago you couldn't even give those things away for FREE!! Anyways, the one game I want to go is the Giants game which is this Sunday and not only am I burned out on traveling at this point and living one foot in Seattle/one foot in PDX but it also conflicts with a good friend's birthday. Dilemma!! The other option that would be appealing (esp. for my dad) is the Chargers game. Too bad it's on Christmas Eve. Sigh. So I guess it will have to be Green Bay in late November which at least is a Monday Night football game.
My dad is lucky I really 24 August When Did Michael Keaton Get that Old??I saw White Noise last night, the movie about EVP (electric voice phenomenon) starring a VERY wrinkled Michael Keaton with randomly frosted hair. It was quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. I'm not going to even review it, it was that bad. The script must have been passed around like 12 times. I knew I should have just watched the rerun of One Tree Hill. 23 August Hobbit-SizedThis morning on the way to work I saw a billboard that said the minimum height requirement for child safety seats is now 4' 9". Are you freakin' kidding me? I would have been a freshman in high school before I could have sat in a big-girl seat. As it is now I'm not much taller than that and I do worry that if my airbag ever deploys my head will be severed from my body. I'm all for child safety but I think this might be pushing it a bit! 21 August Las Cositas Que Me Hacen FelicidadThings that made me happy this weekend (it's good to remember the little things)
The Lentil Festival was tons o' fun and as usual I was sad to leave Pullman. I'm so excited to go back for the Oregon game in October I can hardly wait!!! 16 August Back to SchoolWhat is wrong with me? I'm listening to Back to School Fred Meyer commercials, reading "Dorm Room Essentials" articles on MSN.com, and watching kids fall fashion segments on the Today Show, all with red-faced envy. I am already planning a Century Club party for the fall and also want to do a pub crawl of all the U of P bars in the neighborhood. I have never before had school nostalgia before but it's hitting me hard this year. All I want to do is go to football games, drink beer from a keg, and wear a plaid skirt.
Good thing I'm headed this weekend to the wheat fields of Pullman, my old stomping grounds and the perfect place to do all three! |
